This is the nursery so far complete with the first tree decal we put up leaf by painstaking leaf. Also there is the beginning of, what will one day be, an awesome bookcase filled with books!
This is the Fisher-Price Zen Cradle/Swing with a polar bear baby in it lol.
This is the crib (minus the mattress obviously) and the second tree decal we put up. Do you like the wind effect we did? I think it looks awesome!
This is the beginning of the ceiling fan project that took my husband a bit more than a day's worth of work to complete! The wiring was annoying and he had to add another switch...
And voila, a working fan and light, each operated by their own switch and the light has a dimmer now as well! I heart it.
Okay, well there's our work so far! My husband, Brian, also added the frost coating to the French doors, painted the lock white, painted the closet and the doors a fresh-coat of white, added new door handles, installed the baby-proof lock on the sliding door, re-hung the curtain rod in a better spot and he's finishing up some floating shelves and a tiny stool he made as well! I heart him to pieces! :) I hope you all like my ideas and his handiwork!
Congratulations! I'm not sure if I knew you were pregnant. Anyway, I love what you've done with the nursery, that green look terrific! I, for one, would love to see more off-topic posts of the baby variety.
ReplyDeleteAh thanks for the compliment and the encouragement! I would love to post a few of these as the nursery progresses and we get more baby stuff and once the baby is here I would love to share that experience sometimes too! So, it's good to hear I have at least one reader that's interested. :)
ReplyDeleteCongradulations on the upcoming addition to your family!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lucky baby too, arriving into such a beautiful nursery. I love the tree on the wall.
Thanks Rina. <3
ReplyDeleteWow your husband is handy xD. I love the wind effect with the leaves and congratulations you two! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThanks so much and he is amazing! He can do anything when it comes to home improvement/repair. <3
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Still new here, so I didn't know. I am not pregnant, but I love baby things and am obsessed with blogs about them as well. LOL. Your nursery is adorable! I love the green and the tree (and yes the wind) - very nice! I hope my husband will be this handy when the time comes...
ReplyDeleteWOW!! What a great nursery and what a fortunate little addition you will have! I love the tree and the wind-blown leaves....but you had better build another bookcase....I bet you will have that cute one filled in no time flat. I found you through the Small Blogs Big Giveaway blog hop and am now a new follower.

Thanks you two! It's fun to share and since I've got such a good response already, I'll be sure to include more posts like this in the future! Thanks for the feedback and compliments. <3
ReplyDeleteAWWW, Sandra! It`s lovely. How far along are you now?
ReplyDeleteAlmost 10 weeks Romona. I have a cute pregnancy ticker at the bottom of my page too. :)
ReplyDeleteSo, how did you do that Tree on the wall? I love the colors (Green) is my favorite! Congrats! When are you due? I want to pray for you too. Thanks for coming by my blog. If you need tips on pregnancy I have a 17 year old. She is so pretty, just like her mommy. :) Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteJackie - There are actually two trees and they are thin vinyl decals (basically stickers) that I found at Etsy.com and you just stick them on the wall and we used a glue stick too, because our walls are textured and they started peeling off a bit. Once we did the glue stick they're up there pretty good now. Thanks about the colors too, that was all my choice. I picked green since it's unisex, it reminds me of the outdoors and it's the most psychologically calming color as well. I am due 01/05/12. Thanks for the advice and compliments! :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!
ReplyDeleteAwww! I love the green and the tree decal! LOVE! I want to paint my office a similar shade of green :). Congrats again, so exciting! ~ Jen @ A Book and a Latte
ReplyDeleteThanks Willa and Jen! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely lovely! My second baby was born when my first was only a year old - I have to say the cradle swing (and the moby wrap) saved my life! Congratulations!
