My first unfollower! *Gasp!* Of course it was bound to happen and will surely happen again, but I can't help but notice and wonder... Did I say something annoying or offensive? Maybe it was a hardcore Kindle lover mad at me for posting about the NookColor so passionately (haha). Maybe it was someone who decided they don't want to read any books I do (but how could they know when my blog is so new and I've only posted a few reviews so far?). Maybe it was someone who found another way to follow me, so it doesn't even count. Maybe it was an error with the counter and I never had 131 followers at all! I don't know, but I wish I did. I also wish I didn't notice each and every new follower, so then I wouldn't notice when someone unfollowed me too! *Sigh* Oh well. All I can do is try my best to take care of my site and post the best posts I can and hopefully there won't be many more unfollowers in my future!
*Hugs* to all my current followers and thanks for sticking around! I hope I can provide you with the type of content you're looking for! :)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Kindle. I wouldn't trade it for a Nook..ever. However, I don't see that being a reason to unfollow. So what if you read a different ereader. They're all ebooks! And I love books so what's the big deal?
ReplyDeleteWho knows? Only the person that unfollowed haha. I can only speculate and since that was my most recent post, I thought maybe that had something to do with it...
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain Sandra. I don't want to lose any followers either. Me and my nook are still with ya! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are going to miss some great post!!!!!!! You're doing GREAT to me
ReplyDeleteThanks Theresa and Nick! *hugs* :)
ReplyDeleteBeen blogging for almost two years now and yes I've had my share of un-follower to. I can't tell you why yours un-followed but I can tell you why I sometimes do. There's mostly three reasons: 1-Blogger not active enough for me (I'm talking like 1-2 posts a month) 2- Content doesn't interest me (sometimes you start following a blog for a specific giveaway, but then you realize the stuff they post regularly just don't work for you) 3- Partial feed to google reader! That annoys the crap out of me lol
ReplyDeleteWell those are all pretty logical reasons. I hope it's something simple like that instead of someone being annoyed at one of my posts or something! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww sorry to hear that! I noticed my first one the other day and I wonder the same thing! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. I try hard not to take unfollowers personally, because I figure there probably isn't anything personal about it. Still, it always feels like a little kick in the gut.
ReplyDeleteNo worries - 134 is fabulous for how new your blog is! You're clearly working hard to market yourself.
Well I'm glad to see other people feel the same way when it happens at least!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much Alison, I have been putting a lot of work into it. I've spend hours on widgets and looking for more bloggers to follow in the hopes of expanding my network and so far most everyone has been very welcoming and kind in the blogging world! I wish I would've started a blog sooner now! :)
Aw, I've lost a few followers and it always hurts a little. :( I guess ultimately people have to do what makes them happy and I wish them the best.
ReplyDeleteSometimes people follow just in the hopes that you'll follow them back but they don't actually care about your blog. That makes me a little sad too. I always hope if I lose a follower it's one of those people who were never truly followers in the first place. At least then it's not something I said!
keep your head up girly! it's their loss, not yours ;)
ReplyDeleteI definitely follow people in the hopes that they'll follow me back, but I plan on following up with their reviews and staying in touch and becoming blogger friends with the person if I follow as well and I would never follow a blog that wasn't something I'm interested in either, so hopefully my follows don't seem insincere. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
Thanks Diana! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry that much Sandra (: I'm guilty to unfollowing blogs too. Usually it's just because you've followed them because you read one awesome post. Yet 50 book reviews later, about books you don't even plan on reading, you realise that said blog might not be for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it's nothing personal (:
It does happen. I notice it on mine too occasionally. It saddens me, but what can you do? I know I follow a lot of blogs, probably near to what my followers are and while I can't visit all of them everyday I do try to pop by at least once a week or so. For some reason I can't bring myself to unfollow.
ReplyDeletePretty much if I notice regular comments at my blog, I'm sure to visit them a few times a week. Although sometimes they might have posts on books I don't really care to read, so I don't usually comment on those. And then there's always reviews on books I've read or plan to read and sometimes there is spoiler alerts on those posts so I can't read them either.
But basically I can't ever really bring myself to unfollow.
Me neither Jessica, because I would never want to hurt someone's feelings by doing that. I do my best to keep up with comments and post on pages where people are taking the time to post on mine too, but I'm the same way. One small comfort about my blog at least, I will never use spoilers! I believe in sharing a little about the book and more about my reaction to the book. You'll probably notice my reviews tell you less about the book than the synopsis on the actual book! Lol. :) Anyway, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!
ReplyDeleteAw, sorry to hear that :( It can sting but don't take it personally. I actually lose track of my counter too & sometimes think I was "unfollowed" by someone. I hope you're happy with the followers you do have as much as we are to follow you :)
ReplyDeleteI certainly am! I have the best followers, because they actually care and take the time to stop by and read my posts and leave me comments. I bet the one that unfollowed me wasn't ever going to do that, so it's a GOOD thing. :)
